Trey Songz Releases New Single “Lonely”

R&B singer, songwriter, and producer Trey Songz is back with a hot new single entitled, “Lonely.”

After nearly two decades with Atlantic Records, Trey is starting a new chapter with his own new indie label, GTE Records under Virgin Music Group.  The new single, “Lonely,”  was first previewed in 2022; however, its official release came this year via Trey’s new, GTE Records label.

On “Lonely,”  Trey Songz sings of his regrets of losing someone who was down for him, though he didn’t appreciate her.   He sings, “Can’t find your replacement / Even through all my flaws, you stayed faithful / Knowing I ain’t no good, thought you change me /  And now you left me, you left me with regrets / Now, I’m lonely in this bed.” 

The Grammy-nominated artist last album was 2020’s Back Home, his eighth studio album  via Atlantic Records.  The project featured Summer Walker, Davido, Swae Lee and Ty Dolla $ign.  He said of the album, “Back Home to me is filled with opinions, positions, realities and a deep introspective look into where I’m at in my life.  As an artist and new father, I want my music to be a true reflection of my evolution and my commitment to my fans to never forget where I came from.  That’s why it’s entitled Back Home.” 

Fans can catch Trey on the road this year where he will be joined by Omarion, Bow Wow, Ray J, and Pleasure P among others for theThe Millennium Tour 2025.  The tour is powered by Black Promoters Collective.
