Sy’Rai Shares New Single “On My Own”

Sy’Rai Smith has released her first official debut single, “On My Own” co-produced by Jared “ReezyTunez” Thorne and Keyz Bridgez.  Daughter of legendary singer, Brandy and producer Robert “Big Bert” Smith, the singer and songwriter is preparing to make her mark in the music industry.

Sy’Rai co-wrote the track with singer and songwriter, Eric Bellinger.  The singer not only shares a striking resemblence to her mother, but her mom’s exquisite vocals, as well.  In 2020, Smith released an unofficial single entitled, “At Your Best” produced by Genius & Tubbsmuzik — her take on Aaliyah‘s song by the same name. 

On the new single, “On My Own”  Sy’Rai sings of being comfortable enough with herself to understand that  greatness is within her and that she’s prepared to take her time and cease every moment.  She sings, “Think I finally arrived / It was so far from luck / Greatness is up to me / And I’m making that choice / I’ve been taking my time / And I ain’t in a rush / I don’t wanna miss anything / It’ll cost me too much.”

“On My Own” will appear on Sy’Rai‘s forthcoming EP which will be executive and vocally produced by her mother, Brandy.  The new single is currently available on all digital streaming platforms.
