SWV and Xscape Will Face Off In VERZUZ Battle
Two of the biggest and most beloved female groups of 90’s R&B will go head-to-head in VERZUZ battle on May 8th!
Saturday, May 8, 2021 will mark the one-year anniversary of VERZUZ—the popular online artist battle event started by super-producers Timbaland and Swizz Beatz amid last year’s COVID pandemic quarantine.
Since its inception, we’ve witnessed ‘battles’ between some of the biggest artists in Hip Hop—Snoop Dogg and the recently departed DMX, Old Skool Soul and R&B—Gladys Knight and Patti LaBelle, songwriter and producers— Teddy Riley and Babyface and of course 90’s R&B icons, Brandy and Monica, to name a few. Most recently, we watched Soul/R&B groups Earth Wind & Fire battle it out with the equally legendary, Isley Brothers! VERZUZ has taken us back down memory lane with great music and epic artist battles that have generated millions of views, so it is only fitting that the one-year anniversary include a battle many of us have wanted to see; myself included—the battle between 90’s R&B groups, SWV and Xscape!
The SWV/Xscape vocal-off will follow the upcoming April 20 battle between legendary Hip Hop artists, Redman and Method Man.
It all goes down at 8:00 p.m. ET on May 8, 2021 via the VERZUZ Instagram page and Triller.
