The Talented Singer Shares First Single Since Last Year’s “Virginia”
Veteran R&B singer, Nivea is back with a new single entitled, “Killa.” The single follows the well-received track, “Virginia” released last year— it also landed at #2 on AMN’s Top 20 Indie R&B Songs of 2022 list.
The singer who’s debut self-titled album was released in 2001, is most known for her appearance on Mystikal‘s single, “Danger,” as well as her Grammy-nominated hit, “Don’t Mess with My Man” featuring Jagged Edge and the single, “Okay” featuring YoungbloodZ & Lil’ Jon. In addition to her debut release, she has released two other studio albums, Complicated (2005) and Animalistic (2006). Her latest album, Mirrors, was released independently and included the single, “Circles.“
Most recently, she co-starred on Peacock‘s new dating series, Queens Court opposite fellow singer Tamar Braxton and former Basketball Wives star Evelyn Lozada.
On the new single, “Killa” Nivea sings of loving someone so much that she would do anything to keep his affections—only to find that he’s manipulative and untrustworthy. She sings, “You could trick a blind man/ Make him think he’s seeing love/ I don’t trust me with you no, no/ I don’t trust me with you no, no / but I don’t want nobody else. My first love was a killa… “
