Morris Day Shares New Album ‘Last Call’

The Legendary Artist Has Released What He Says Is His Final  Solo Album

Morris Day has kept us on the dance floor since the ‘80s, with songs including “Cool,” “777-9311,” “Jungle Love,” “Ice Cream Castles,” “The Bird” and he and his band, The Time‘s, biggest hit, “Jerk Out.”  He and his friend/mentor/collaborater the incomparable, Prince, created what would affectionately become known as the “Minneapolis Sound.” 

At this year’s Soul Train Music Awards, Day and The Time made up of group members  Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, Jesse Johnson and Day’s friend and associate Jerome Benton were awarded the Soul Train 2022 Legend Award celebrating the group’s impressive contributions to R&B and Funk music.

The new 12-track project features other music notables including Big Daddy Kane on “Grown Man” and  Snoop Dogg on “Use to Be the Playa.”   Also featured on the album are Trinidad James, Flo Rida, Tech N9ne and ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons.

The Last Call tour will be announced in 2023. Morris Day‘s Last Call is currently available via all digital streaming platforms.
