Mary J Blige Shares New Single “You Ain’t The Only One”

Mary J. Blige  has released a new single entitled, “You Ain’t The Only One” via 300 Entertainment and her own, Mary Jane Productions, Inc.

On the new single, co-written by Blige and Bryan Jones and produced by Pat Kelly, Angelo “Doc” Velasquez, Will Campbell, and Aidan Brody, the bonafide queen of Hip Hop/Soul reflects on her journey; and the strength, resilence and importance of continuing to move forward no matter what—because things do turn around for the better in the end.  She sings, “We all have pain, been through some things in our life, why complain cause the world don’t care /Life is a game, just play the hand that you’re dealt so the sun will shine through the rain.”

The  sun is definitely shining on the Grammy Award winning singer and actress—she is among the latest to be inducted to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (well-deserved and overdue), and she co-stars in the melancholy  new movie, Rob Peace, based on the tragic life of Yale graduate and brilliant New Jersey native, Robert DeShaun Peace who was murdered in 2011.  Blige plays Peace’s mother, Jackie, in the film co-starring and directed by  Chiwetel Ejiofor.

“You Ain’t The Only One” arrives a day before she’s set to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. It’s the second single from her upcoming album Gratitude following her recent track “Breathing” featuring Fabolous. MBJ first sparked hype for her 15th studio album after she shared “Still Believe In Love” with Vado last October. Ahead of her “Strength of a Woman Summit” earlier this year, Mary made fans’ jaws drop when she indicated that her next LP might be her last.

“This is another album, and it’s probably my last studio album,” she told People. “I’ve been doing it for a while. I love it, I enjoy it, and it might be the last studio album. It might be.”

Last month, Mary J. Blige revealed the title of her project, its release date and the plans for her upcoming “For My Fans Tour” with Ne-Yo and MarioGratitude is slated to arrive on November 15. Listen to her new song and see the dates for her 2025 tour below.

Additionally, she will be touring with Ne-Yo and Mario on her For My Fans tour.   The new song, “You Ain’t The Only One,” is the second single from Blige‘s forthcoming album and possibly her last one, Gratitude.  She tapped rapper, Fabolous for the single, “Breathing” which broke the Top 10 on the Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.

Mary has been performing and releasing hit after hit for more than 30 years to her global fanbase.  However, she shared with PEOPLE that Gratitude just may be her last album:  “This is another album, and it’s probably my last studio album.  I’ve been doing it for a while.  I love it, I enjoy it, and it might be the last studio album. It might be.”  Let’s hope not!

Gratitude is scheduled for release on November 15, 2024.
