R&B songstress Keyshia Cole promised great new music—and she delivers!
KEYSHIA COLE has returned with a beautiful new single entitled, “I Don’t Want To Be In Love.” The track is produced by Keyshia along with her longtime collaborator Ron Fair; other producers include Gregory Edwards and Anthony Bell. The new song is the first to be released via Keyshia‘s new label, Hearts & Stars, a partnership with music distribution company BMG. The song, debuted during her record-breaking Verzuz battle with fellow R&B singer Ashanti, is her first single in over three years. With more than six million viewers of the R&B battle, Keyshia made the smart decision to use the momentum to release the new single.
” We both got a situation, hesitation, whenever we hook up / it’s all love, never any expectations, I know you went much further/. I met your girl, never wanna hurt her, never wanna be that chick/ but lately, this is really feeling like torture…”
On the ballad, Keyshia is a woman who’s had enough! She’s trying to get through to a ‘friend with benefits’ though they both are apparently in committed relationships, she realizes that she can’t allow herself to fall for him. I Don’t Want To Be In Love” was co-written by Keyshia and Brian Bates. She also recently signed a management deal with Primary Wave to oversee her eighth studio album due out later this year via BMG. Keyshia‘s last album was 2017’s 11:11 Reset that featured Remy Ma, French Montana, Too $hort, Young Thug, DJ Khaled and Kamaiyah.
