The R&B quintet has just dropped their new single “Maniac,” produced by B.O.P and co-written by Kristal Smith (of June’s Diary)
The talented quintet, June’s Diary, comprised of members Ashly Williams,Gabrielle Carrerio, Brienna DeVlugt, Kristal Smith and Shyann Roberts was assembled on BET’s Chasing Destinydocuseries, helmed by renowned choreographer and creative director Frank Gatson Jr. and Destiny’s Child member and songstress Kelly Rowland in 2016. The ladies are still going strong, and is currently preparing for the release of a new EP this summer.
“One of our favorite things about being in a group is being able to pull from all of our individual influences. With ‘Maniac,’ we wanted to create a record with energy, something that felt good and had a good vibe, especially after the last few months.” – June’s Diary
Their latest single, “Maniac”, was co-written by group member Kristal Smith, along with Dee Roze and Crystal Carr. Last fall, the ladies released a track entitled, “Way Off” — the first song that they penned together as a group. On the new anthem, “Maniac” the group showcases their versatility, as they sing about a guy who pursues a relationship with a woman, only to waste her time. When it’s clear she no longer wants to be bothered, he starts to act like a ‘maniac’. The song serves as the lead single from their forthcoming project.
