Jaz Karis Shares Visual for “Back 2 U”
The Music Video Stars Fellow R&B Singer PHABO As The Lead
South London native and indie R&B artist, Jaz Karis is back with a new single entitled, “Back 2 U.”
The new single follows “Therapy” released in April this year, preceded by Jaz‘s 2022 EP, Dear Jaz. The project included popular tracks, “Side of You” and “Options.” The Brit School alumna’s vocals travel between the soundscape of Soul, Jazz and Hip Hop — she names Erykah Badu, Amy Winehouse and Miguel among her music influences.
Her debut EP Into The Wilderness, released in 2017 on all female-run independent label Salute The Sun Records, featured collaborations with Sillkey, Blue Lab Beats, Mike Musiq, Tinyman and Zulu. She followed that album with, All Eyes On U released in 2020.
On the new single, “Back 2 U” Jaz sings of her inability to let go — taking two steps forward, and two back… she keeps running back to the man she loves. The music video was directed by Daisy Maskell and Ana Liasi, with production by Ella Griffith, Ana Liasi and Daisy Maskell. Fellow music artist, PHABO, plays Jaz‘s romantic interest and co-star in the video.
