Jamal Roberts Releases Video For “Mississippi”

The exceptionally talented Jamal Roberts  has shared the music video for his latest single, “Misssissippi.“

The Meridian, Mississippi native wowed audiences for 24 weeks as a contestant on the 23rd season of the hit  show. American Idol where he brought home the top prize in a historical win! 

The young former physical education teacher pays tribute to his home state on his latest single, “Mississippi.”  Jamal has always expressed his love for the state he calls home, and he continues to share his affinity for the Magnolia state on his new song singing: “I’m missing you in Mississippi/ And if don’t feel the same, without you with me /All alone in these big cities, all those skyline views/ They don’t look like you/ Late nights on the road, but you’re always home/ I need you to know, oh, I’ll be missing you in Mississippi/ Are you missing me, Mississippi?”  The music  video was directed by Khari Mccloud.

Jamal is only the second Black male to win American Idol since Ruben Studdard won 22 years ago!  Roberts’ historic defeat of John Foster and Brianna Nix was named the “biggest finale vote in show history” by host Ryan Seacrest. Roberts will be joining Brandy and Monica’s “The Boy is Mine” tour, which kicks off on Oct. 16 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
