It’s FINALLY Happening: Tony! Toni! Tone! Are Back
The Original Members Will Be Hitting The Road for Their Just Me and You Tour This Year
Just when it seemed it would never happen, the original members of one of music’s most beloved bands, Tony! Toni! Toné! is returning and touring this year— and yes, that includes the ever-elusive, Raphael Saadiq!
In fact, it was Raphael Saadiq who anounced the tour via his Instagram page just two hours ago, stating: “Just Me and You Tour 2023, y’all ready? Y’all sure you ready?!?” Of course, we are! We have all been ready for some time now!
The band who brought us memorable hits including, “It Never Rains (in Southern California),” “Just Me and You,” “Feels Good” and “Whatever You Want” to name a few, have been doing their thing for more than three decades and have amassed fans the world over!
It’s been more than 10 year since Saadiq, his brother D’wayne Wiggins and cousin, Timothy Christian Riley performed together as Tony! Toni! Toné! The group’s last album was 1996’s House of Music. Saadqiq however, has remained busy over the years. He has released several solo projects, as well as an album as a member of the now defunct group, Lucy Pearl, which also included group members Dawn Robinson (formerly of En Vogue), and Ali Shaheed Muhammad (formerly of A Tribe Called Quest). In 2022, Saadiq collaborated with Beyoncé on her seventh studio album, Renaissance, for which he received two Grammy nominations!
