The Legendary Trio Will Celebrate 25 Years Of Their Multi-Platinum Album ‘The Score’
It’s hard to believe that it’s been more than two decades since Ms. Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel better known as, The Fugees dropped their multi-platinum album, The Score. The trio will reunite for the first time in 15 years for a world tour kicking off on September 22, 2021 in New York City at an undisclosed location, and will continue with dates in the United States, through London and Paris, and into Nigeria and Ghana this November and December.
Fugees released their sophomore album The Score in 1996. The album would become extremely successful with hit singles including “Ready or Not” and “Killing Me Softly.” The group would break up 10 years later in 2006 due to several riffs and complications— including a romantic relationship between Wyclef and Lauryn.
“The Fugees have a complex, but impactful history. I decided to honor this significant project, its anniversary, and the fans who appreciated the music by creating a peaceful platform where we could unite, perform the music we loved, and set an example of reconciliation for the world. ” – Ms. Lauryn Hill
Their sophomore 15-track album quickly exploded and landed the group a pair of Grammy Awards in 1997; and it would later go seven times Platinum. Wyclef Jean said about the reunion tour: “As I celebrate 25 years with the Fugees, my first memory was that we vowed, from the gate, we would not just do music we would be a movement. We would be a voice for the un-heard, and in these challenging times, I am grateful once again, that God has brought us together.” The tour will be sponsored by Live Nation.
