The R&B and Soul songstress shares teaser and tracklisting for her upcoming album
Debórah Bond is gearing up for the release of her new album, ‘compass: I’ due out March 5th. The North Haven, CT native who counts artists like Luther Vandross, Whitney Houston and Stevie Wonder among those who have inspired her, later moved to Washington, DC and joined the production team Third Logic, comprised of bandmates and songwriting partners Robbie McDonald, Aaron“Funky Chuck” Evans and Kinard Cherry.
The singer and songwriter stepped away from her band, Third Logic, and recently debuted her first solo single produced by Trey Sorrells entitled, “radio” which brings a vintage “round the way girl” R&B sound that serves as an ode to lost love. The song was accompanied by a music video directed by T.L. Benton of Mecca Filmworks. In the video, Bond can be seen atop a roof decked out in all-black, accented with a black leather moto jacket, and statement red lipstick as she dances around and sings of how love starts, ‘boy meets girl / girl falls in love/ two people dance and dance again/ as usual may not have been the right timing/ but we try to make it last’ through to how love can sometimes end.
In addition to her career as a performing artist, Bond is an accomplished radio personality and voice over artist who hosted a weekly Sunday afternoon radio show at Sirius XM for ten years! She’s also a pillar of the D.C. music community, having served six (6) terms as D.C. GRAMMY Chapter Governor. DebórahBond’s forthcoming album compass: I will include nine tracks and is currently available for pre-order or pre-save.
