Chicago-native and Gladys Knight‘s protégé, Avehre knew at an early age that he would be creating music. Born Brandon Avery Smith, the gifted singer, songwriter and producer started out singing in church and counts Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, and Brandy among his musical influences.
Avehre‘s musical style is inspired by his early exposure to Soul, Blues and Gospel music. The singer recently released a hot new single entitled, “Circles.” He says of the song, “[Circles]is about a time when you’re in love and want to be closer with your partner, but are navigating the circles or ups and downs of love.”
“The EP is about going full throttle into your dreams and what you love; being bold, confident, sexy and owning your spot!” – Avehre, on forthcoming project ‘Greenlight‘
Avehre has worked behind the scenes for years, writing music for acts including Boyz II Men and R&B legend, Gladys Knight. One of the songs written for Knight actually earned her an NAACP Image Award! Avehre‘s single, “Bulletproof” and moving video released last year amid the brutal police attacks on African American citizens, went viral.
Avehre is also currently preparing for the release of his forthcoming EP, Greenlight.
