Alexander O’Neal Shares New EP

The New 4-Track EP Is Entiteld, Is This Seat Taken? 

R&B music icon, Alexander O’Neal has blessed us all with new music in the form of an EP called, Is This Seat Taken?

The Natchez, Mississippi native moved to Minneapolis, MN at 20 years old to further his music career, and joined forces with production icons, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.  This would result in hit after hit!  O’Neal, the originator of the ‘Minneapolis sound’ has had eleven Top 40 singles on the U.S. R&B charts, and fourteen Top 40 singles on the UK singles chart!

The 40-year music vet is known for hits including, “If You Were Here Tonight,”  “All True Man” and his famous collaborations with fellow artist, Cherelle, including “Saturday Love” and “Never Knew Love Like This” among others. 

 A press release about the new EP stated:

“ ‘Is This Seat Taken?’ pays homage to Alexander‘s soul music roots while incorporating elements that have inspired him!”  

Alex has released 10 studio albums including  the self-titled, Alexander O’Neal (1985), and his most successful album to date, Hearsay (1988) which include hits, “Fake,” “Criticize“and “Sunshine.”  O’Neal is currently on tour for what he is saying will be his last tour called, Time To Say Goodbye Tour, with dates currently in the UK, only.  However, U.S. dates are expected to be added.

The new EP was recorded at CrystalCastle Studios in Minneapolis, Minnesota with production from up and coming producer, Mike Vangen.  Is This Seat Taken? is available now on all streaming and download platforms.
